"God's
Own country??"
Four
one minute films for The Kerala Tourism board and this picturesque,
tropical south Indian state was rocketed onto National Geographic's
"50 most sought after destinations"
"It came out of nowhere. It wasn't planned."
The
elephant rolled his trunk up and spattered mud on screen. The tourism
department freaked.
A lot of awards have happened
over a period of time but Santosh Sivans work is not exactly indicative
of the parameters he sets for himself. They are relatively abstract
in comparison to those of his contemporaries.
He can swing from rugged Ladakhi landscapes to a Shahrukh Khan in
the backwaters of Kerala , suddenly shift focus to a highly emotional
dance drama in Vanaprastham with amazing ease.
It is almost natural. Organic.
